build your dream life right NOW

lets go in a bowl

If you had all the time and money you could possibly want, what would you be doing right now?

For me, right now I’m building my dream coaching business, where I work with clients who appreciate me and see the immense value I provide. In the future, I would be traveling across the world. The Maldives, Sweden, and Thailand are just a few on the top of my list. Then, when I’ve hit all the places I want to experience, I want to settle down and own my own dog-friendly cafe with the most amazing bubble tea ever.

I had a conversation with a friend who is struggling to find her passion in life and it’s feels straight up exhausting. I completely understood what she was saying because I was there too. During college, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life and I jumped from one course to the next in all kinds of majors (accounting, biology/pre-med, etc). I felt lost and had no freakin’ idea what I was doing.

Eventually, the anxiety and confusion became so overwhelming that it got to the point where I wanted to end my own life because I truly felt like I had no where left to go. Even though I have a loving family who supports me, I felt worthless and like I had no hope at all.

Then COVID hit. And while the pandemic absolutely ruined a lot of things, I used it as a time to reflect on my life and really think about what kind of person I was. I got real serious, and just laid in bed thinking. I spend months reflecting and then exploring what it is that makes me spark. What lights me up? What makes me excited to wake up in bed rather than wake up in misery and annoyance?

I knew I wanted to help people. I was a psych major but I also knew I didn’t want to go into the clinical field. Then I discovered coaching. My current life coach used to be a big podcasting coach/mentor but he shifted to mindset coaching because he found that that was the thing that lighted him up now.

For me, the path from podcasting to life coaching was similar. I had started my podcast and offered production services because my business coach from early 2021 suggested it as a hot niche, but it wasn’t something I was super passionate about but I did it anyways.

If you feel like you’re in a mentally low place right now with no light at the end of the tunnel, know that you’re not alone. I was there not too many years ago and look at me now. I love myself and what I do. I feel inspired almost every single day by the people I meet in this field, and I want the same for you.

But I also wanted to write today for the people who are reluctant to change. If I asked you what you really, really wanted in life and I told you I could help you get there, would you accept my help? Would you be ready for taking the small steps to make big change? Are you serious about ending the misery and forging a new path to everlasting happiness and fulfillment?

If you find yourself feeling hesitant to say “heck yes”, I challenge you to ask yourself why. Are you scared of “failing” or things not going the way you planned?

Hey. Things don’t always go as planned and you know it. You know it in yourself that when you try something new, it doesn’t usually go perfectly the first time. Only when you are persistent and keep trying a couple times is when your body and mind get the hang of it and adjust the rails to achieve what you want in that moment.

The only way that you’re going to become happier is if you TRY. You are guaranteed to feel miserable about yourself if you let it be that way and don’t do anything about it. Are you actively trying new things that might be your passion and the way to feel amazing? If you’re not, of course you don’t feel happy because you’re not doing anything.

If you’re serious about changing your life for the better, you need to say yes to yourself. Accept yourself as you are, and say yes to change because it is for your greater good. You are not selfish for seeking happiness. You are not weird for wanting to live a different life. You are you and that’s all you need for create an amazing life on your terms.

But if you’re going to reject other people’s help because you’re scared, things won’t happen. Nothing will change and you will stay safe in your cage.

When you are ready to say yes to yourself and to say goodbye to the misery that keeps you up every night and causes the excruciating pain every single day, I will be here for you, and your eyes will open to immense possibilities. Whether that means seeing the friends who have been ready to support you or the books and programs that have been waiting to help you.

I’m rooting for you and what you want to accomplish in this one beautiful life.

Suzanne
